• The Ten Things You Need to Know Before Going to Your First Yoga Class

    Updated: 2011-06-30 18:52:14
I still remember my first Yoga class like it was yesterday. I had been in the stress management business for over 15 years, had read about the many benefits of yoga (which include stress reduction, pain relief, increased flexibility, increased strength, and weight management) and even occasionally "practiced" yoga while watching it demonstrated on TV. But I had never actually been to a live yoga class. So, given my fear of doing anything new, it was with great trepidation that I drove myself to my first class.<img src="http://feeds.feedburner.com/~r/StressstopBlog/~4/Ug3hDjzy9iw" height="1" width="1"/

    Updated: 2011-06-30 18:52:14
Five years ago I was asked by the U.S. Army to put on a mindfulness presentation at their national health conference in Albuquerque, NM. I knew very little about this subject at the time, so I politely declined. For some reason, that Army Representative (who had heard me speak on stress management at a Navy health conference) wasn't going to give up that easily and persuaded me to do it.
