by Andreas Schenkel. ot sure if it is worth thinking about to customise the code of .../message/classes/api.php an check, if this array contains at least one allowed course id. If so, the user can send a message. Otherwise the user is not allowed to send.

by Brett Dalton. een There is work to support TinyMCE plugins officially in Moodle. There is also work underway to lay the groundwork for LTI placements in the editor as well (this is a bit further out). I think that eithe of these options would probably be a lot less work than trying to build a new editor. Its non-trivial to say the least.

by Helen Foster. ello, Because messaging is a site rather than a course feature, it's not possible to disable it for specific courses. The only way you can restrict messaging is by limiting it to specific users, or by creating a 'Can't send messages' role and assigning it to users in the system context. by Mark Johnson. f you want text generation in Moodle's text editor, your best bet is to do it via a Tiny plugin, rather than writing a new editor. In fact, TinyMCE already have a premium plugin available for GPT integration: https://www.tiny.cloud/tinymce/features/ai-integration/. I don't know where we are with adding premium plugins into Moodle yet, but it might be worth investigating that before you put effort into developing something new.
